How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
We hope to provide Blue Courage training opportunities several times a year in the Northern Nevada region. There are several of us trainers that have created a network for sharing Blue Courage ideas. We will stay in contact and facilitate the implementation of the Blue Courage training throughout our individual departments. This is a program police officers should not only have in the academy, but throughout their career. We are hoping to continue to provide this invaluable training to all of the Law Enforcement agencies in Northern Nevada and to infuse Blue Courage into the culture of our agency (Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy). If the BJA could assist with some of the costs of the class I truly believe the training could start a trend in law enforcement that could reverse some of the damage done by many high-profile cases nationwide that has cast law enforcement in a negative light. It is vitally important that members of law enforcement seek out these opportunities to improve our relationships with the communities we serve. They deserve nothing less from us.
