As part of the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA) Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Policy Implementation Program, CNA and its partners Arizona State University, Justice & Security Strategies, and the International City/County Management Association’s Center for Public Safety Management manage a BWC Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) website. The BWC TTA website hosts many resources that help agencies implement BWC technology. These resources include the following:
- BWC Policy Review Process that includes two score cards to help agencies assess their BWC policies.
- In View: Commentary from BWC Experts that features experts discussing BWC technology, including a look at specific police departments and their BWC implementation.
- BWC TTA Quarterly Newsletter that provides news updates and latest BWC resources.
- BWC Cost and Storage Estimator that helps agencies complete a cost analysis for implementing BWCs.
- BWC Resource Catalog that lists many resources on the following topics: legal, policy, privacy, procurement and budgeting, stakeholder, technology, training, and additional research.
- Directories of Outcomes that features studies on the impact of BWCs on citizen complaints, use of force, officer activity, and officer perceptions.
- Voices from the Field compiles resources that feature BWC technology in site-specific agencies.
BJA has also created the BJA National Body-Worn Camera Toolkit, which serves as a clearinghouse featuring resources for those interested in developing a BWC program.
