    Webinar - The Latest Research and Policy Issues Surrounding the Use of Body-Worn Cameras in Law Enforcement

    Police body-worn cameras (BWCs) have diffused rapidly in law enforcement in the United States and abroad over the last few years. The rapid diffusion of police BWCs has been driven, in part, by findings from a handful of early research studies which suggest cameras can produce a range of positive outcomes, including reductions in use of force and citizen complaints, enhanced prosecution outcomes, and increased perceptions of procedural justice among citizens.

    Webinar - Body Worn Cameras for Police Departments

    Body worn cameras (BWCs) have been in the news for the past couple of years. To better educate local governments on the trending issues surrounding this topic, Leonard Matarese will lead a discussion with the CNA Institute for Public Research, which directs and coordinates technical assistance regarding BWCs for the hundreds of police agencies that have received funding in recent years from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) under the BWC Policy and Implementation Program (PIP).

    This webinar will be available to agencies applying for the fiscal year 2018 Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program solicitation. It will provide an overview of solicitation requirements and an opportunity to ask questions.

    2017 Body-Worn Camera Solicitation Webinar

    This Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) webinar will review the 2017 Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Policy and Implementation Program (PIP) Solicitation, including a specific focus on solicitation requirements for unique “small agencies” (25 or fewer sworn officers). It will review the eligibility, goals, requirements, considerations, funding, and other expectations for all categories of agencies (small, medium, large, and extra-large) considering applying under this grant.

    This webinar will review the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) 2016 Small Agency Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Policy and Implementation Program Solicitation for agencies with 25 or fewer sworn officers. It will review the eligibility, goals, requirements, considerations, funding, and other expectations for agencies considering applying under this grant. It will also introduce the training and technical assistance provider (CNA) to help agencies get the support they need while developing BWC policy and implementation programs.
