    Enhancing Tribal and State Collaborations to Build Sustainable Public Safety Partnerships (Oct 2015)

    This course is designed to be a proactive, comprehensive, training experience that fosters collaboration among tribal, state, federal, and local governments. The class will train and equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify existing tribal justice challenges for the purpose of strengthening partnerships to more effectively implement criminal justice initiatives in their organizations.

    Vice President Biden and Attorney General Lynch Announce the $41 Million Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Grantees!

    On Thursday, September 10, Vice President Biden and Attorney General Lynch announced the grantees who will receive funds for the fiscal year 2015 Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI). This initiative will allocate $41 million to support 20 law enforcement organizations to test thousands of previously unsubmitted SAKs and improve organizations’ responses to sexual assault crimes. Additionally, the SAKI funding will go towards the launch of a national training and technical assistance (TTA) program.

    NCJA Webinar - Adult Typologies

    Sexual violence remains a serious social problem with devastating consequences. The challenge of "making society safer" not only includes the need for resources, but also requires a comprehensive understanding of accurate offense patterns and risk. This knowledge may be used to devise offense typologies, or classification systems, that will inform decisions regarding investigation, sentencing, treatment, and supervision.
